Friday evening, 8 October 2021, 7:30 pm – FRC Rockingham
Our end of year concert this year features a number of psalm settings performed by Genevan Consort as well as a harpsichord concerto by Johan Christian Bach, affectionally known in London as the English Bach – and that will show given that one of movements is a set of variations based on “God save the King”. There will also be a concerto of sorts including natural horns by the contemporary French hero Claude Balbastre. All in all, it should be a thoroughly enjoyable evening suitable for all ages.

Sunday evening, 13 June 2021, 7:30 pm – FRC Darling Downs
The Genevan Consort is planning to hold a combination performance and talk on the relationship between traditional Roman Catholic liturgy and Reformed liturgy. The traditional elements of the Roman liturgy will be presented a capella by the choir from Palestrina’s Missa Aeterna Christi Munera. The wonderful acoustics of the entree hall of the church in Darling Downs will be utilised for this event.

Our end of year concert will feature all of Part III of Handel’s Messiah, including the “Amen Chorus”. Featured soloist will be counter-tenor Clayton Dekker. There will also be some more of Handel’s Water Music and various other musical treats.

Sunday evening, 10 June 2018 – FRC Rockingham
Sunday evening 10th June the Genevan Consort and Players will be out in full force treating you to ‘an evening of Psalms and Spiritual Songs’. There will be some communal singing as well as a short Telemann cantata, some solo works based on the psalms. The evening will kick off with an excerpt from Handel’s Water Music (using our new baroque horns and trumpet) and close with the rousing “Amen chorus” from Handel’s Messiah. All are welcome. We start at 7:30pm.

Sunday evening 7:00pm, 2 July 2017 – FRC Rockingham
A concert to celebrate 500 years of Reformation! It will be centered around Martin Luther’s famous hymn ‘Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott’ (A mighty fortress is our God). Amongst the music to be presented you will hear choir and orchestra engage in two settings of this hymn by Scheidt and Telemann respectively, as well as an organ motett by Michael Praetorius. There will also be opportunity to sing along with the choir and orchestra as we celebrate God’s goodness and grace in preserving His church.
1 October 2016 – FRC Rockingham
Our grand 2016 Eucalypt benefit concert came to fruition on Saturday evening 1st October at the Free Reformed Church of Rockingham. Choir and orchestra performed selections from Handel’s Messiah, this time from part 2. In addition the choir sung a variety of Genevan settings of Psalm 116, while the orchestra tackled another Bach harpsichord concerto and an excerpt from Handel’s opera Poro. Sensual perceptions were excited with baroque recorders, oboes, violins, violone and even a baroque bassoon.
